Surprise Proposal Indian Rocks Beach

Carl reached out to me while he and his girlfriend, Louise, were vacationing at Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. They’re from Minnesota, but Louise’s happy place is the beach, so Carl knew this was the spot to pop the question. He wanted to make it extra special by having a proposal photographer there to capture it all, and I was so excited to help document this sweet moment!

Carl planned to propose at sunset on New Year’s Eve Eve, but Florida had other plans. About 30 minutes before he was ready to get down on one knee, a thick fog rolled in and totally changed the vibe. No golden sunset? No problem! The fog gave everything such a dreamy, romantic feel. It was a perfect reminder that even when things don’t go as planned, it’s still an absolutely beautiful memory (and, yes, the photos turned out amazing).

Louise was totally surprised and couldn’t stop smiling—her excitement was everything. After Carl proposed, we took some time for engagement photography, and you could just feel how happy they were. As we finished up, Louise gave me the biggest hug, and we all laughed about how the weather added its own twist to their story. It was such a fun way to ring in the new year!
