Maternity Session at Philippe Park

I am so incredibly excited to watch Elisabeth + Stephen become parents in a few short months! They are due with their baby girl Penny at the end of November and I had the joy of capturing their maternity photos the other day. This session was extra special for me because they are close family friends (I was even a bridesmaid at their wedding just a few years ago!) and now, I get to watch them step into this incredible new role as parents. Not to mention that my girls are getting another little bestie, which just makes my heart just melt!

We spent the evening exploring Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, Florida, and honestly, it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting. If you’ve never been, Philippe Park is such a gem in the Tampa Bay area. The massive trees there are unreal, creating the most beautiful, natural backdrop for photos. We wandered around, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and catching glimpses of the bay as the sun slowly dipped toward the horizon.

It’s typically still insanely hot in September, but somehow, we lucked out with a pretty cool evening which made for a super nice evening for us all to explore the park a little (especially for our pregnant momma!). Philippe Park was absolutely gorgeous and really came through with some welcome shade, thanks to those towering trees!

What really stood out to me during this session was how relaxed and happy Elisabeth and Stephen were. They’re so ready for this next chapter. Watching them stroll through Philippe Park, hand in hand, with that golden sunset behind them, you could just feel the excitement in the air. The park’s brick pathways added this extra bit of elegance to the photos, giving everything a timeless, classic feel. It’s one of those locations where you can’t help but get great shots—it’s just that stunning.

I couldn’t be happier for these two, and I’m beyond excited to see them become parents. Little Penny is already so loved, and I can’t wait to meet her! Plus, getting to spend an evening at Philippe Park with friends, taking in the sunset and capturing memories? That’s what it’s all about.
